About the role

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Pediatric Anesthesiology with a focus on Pediatric Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology. Primary practice is located at the Philadelphia campus of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching in the formal didactic lecture program
  • Informal teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care professionals working in the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas
  • Direct patient care in the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas
  • Medical direction in the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas

Requirements

  • M.D. or equivalent degree
  • ABA certification with subspecialty certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology (or equivalent)
  • Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania medical license
  • Experience in pediatric cardiothoracic anesthesiology
  • Evidence of academic productivity and leadership in projects related to an area of focus

The Academic Clinician track is intended for faculty members who demonstrate impactful contributions to clinical care and education and who develop an Area of Concentration (AoC) in which they become recognized.
