Assistant Professor Clinician-Educator Cardiac Anesthesiologist – CHOP

About the role

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Pediatric Anesthesiology with a focus on cardiothoracic anesthesiology.

Responsibilities

• Teaching in both formal didactic lecture programs and informal teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas
• Direct patient care and medical direction in the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas
• Investigator-initiated and collaborative research or scholarship

Requirements

• M.D. or equivalent degree
• ABA certification with subspecialty certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology, the equivalent, or status as a candidate in the examination system
• Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license

• Evidence of continuous scholarly productivity reflecting a defined focus
