Assistant Pastry Chef

Full or part-time positions available. Must have morning/daytime availability.

About the role

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is currently looking for a talented Pastry Chef who is as passionate about food quality, customer service, and community as we are. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team offering a unique menu selection of more than 40 fresh baked pastries, pies, cakes, and muffins—all made with honest, whole ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and pay close attention to details to create one-of-a-kind pastries and baked goods.
• Lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 lbs or more.
• Perform continuous standing and walking throughout the shift, with limited opportunities for sitting.
• Work through change and remain flexible while keeping a close eye on baking processes.
• Start shifts early (before sunrise).
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food handling and sanitation standards.

Requirements

• 1+ years of large-scale baking/pastry experience (preferred but not required).
• Experience working quickly to decorate pastries.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Qualifications

• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus but not required.

Pay

Hourly wage plus the opportunity to earn tips on each shift.
