Assistant Pastry Chef

Full or part-time positions available. Must have morning/daytime availability.

About the role

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is looking for a talented Pastry Chef who is passionate about food quality, customer service, and community. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team offering a unique menu of over 40 fresh baked pastries, pies, cakes, and muffins made with honest, whole ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and pay close attention to details to create one-of-a-kind pastries and baked goods
• Lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 lbs or more
• Perform continuous standing and walking throughout the shift, with limited opportunities for sitting
• Work through change and remain flexible while keeping a close eye on baking processes
• Maintain attentiveness to compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food handling and sanitation standards

Requirements

• 1+ years of large-scale baking/pastry experience (preferred but not required)
• Ability to work early morning shifts (starting before sunrise)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

• Experience working quickly to decorate pastries
• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus but not required

Pay

Hourly wage plus the opportunity to earn tips on each shift.
