Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology (Neuropathology) -CHLA
The University of Southern California (USC) seeks an outstanding candidate for a full-time neuropathologist faculty member with research, clinical service, and teaching responsibilities as an Assistant or Associate Professor on the traditional clinical track.
About the role
The successful candidate will become an integral member of the multidisciplinary neurosciences research community at the University of Southern California and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Clinical responsibilities will include pediatric neuropathology, brain tumor and muscle biopsy sign-out. The candidate will be actively involved in teaching fellows, residents and medical/graduate students and must be willing to participate in departmental and interdepartmental conferences.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in developmental neuropathology and/or molecular pathology
- Provide clinical service including pediatric neuropathology, brain tumor and muscle biopsy sign-out
- Instruct medical/graduate students, fellows, and residents
- Participate in departmental and interdepartmental conferences
Requirements
- Holds an MD or MD/PhD degree
- Eligible for an unrestricted California Medical License
- Board Certified (or board eligible at time of appointment) in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology
Qualifications
- Special consideration will be given to candidates with research interests in developmental neuropathology and/or molecular pathology

- Strong research background in developmental neuropathology and/or molecular pathology
- Excellent teaching and mentoring skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
Benefits
Salary and appointment rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and training.
Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $250,000-$350,000.
Schedule
The successful candidate will work full-time, 8 hours per day.
