About the Role
The Assistant or Associate Director of Athletics supports the administration of the University's intercollegiate athletics program with a primary focus on NCAA, conference, and institutional compliance. This position assists with day-to-day compliance operations, documentation, education, and reporting to ensure adherence to applicable rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage NCAA, conference, and institutional compliance processes, including monitoring, documentation, and reporting.
- Assist in the development and implementation of compliance education programs for student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of required compliance reports and filings.
- Collaborate with athletics department staff, university administration, and external entities to maintain compliance with all applicable rules.
- Conduct periodic audits and reviews to identify and address potential compliance issues.
- Serve as a resource for interpreting and applying NCAA, conference, and institutional policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in NCAA compliance, preferably in a collegiate athletics environment.
- Strong knowledge of NCAA Division II or III legislation and compliance processes.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in compliance software and Microsoft Office Suite.
