Assistant Operations Manager

About the role

A remote Assistant Operations Manager position is available to lead our growing mortgage operations team at McGowan Mortgages, a top-producing branch of NEXA Mortgage LLC. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will oversee daily workflows, manage processors, enforce compliance, and ensure every loan file moves through the pipeline efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workflows and processes within the mortgage operations team
• Manage and coach a team of processors to ensure high-quality loan closings
• Enforce compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
• Ensure timely and accurate movement of loan files through the pipeline
• Lead initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations
• Work closely with the Branch Manager, Derek McGowan, to drive company growth and team development

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in mortgage operations management
• Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of processors
• Strong understanding of mortgage regulations and compliance standards
• Experience working with multiple wholesale lenders and AI-powered workflow tools
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
• Knowledge of mortgage industry practices and trends
