Assistant Nurse Manager - Inpatient Surgical

About the role

This position involves coordinating patient care, managing personnel, maintaining and procuring equipment, and overseeing departmental operations in a surgical inpatient unit.

Responsibilities

• Staff Management: Hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, conducting professional development, and ensuring productivity aligns with operational goals.
• Budget & Operations: Assisting with staffing, revenue, and expense planning; responding to business changes; overseeing staff scheduling, payroll, and disciplinary actions.
• Patient Care: Providing and supervising care tailored to patients' age and needs, developing collaborative care plans, and documenting interventions.

Qualifications

• RN licensure with a nursing diploma/associate's degree; bachelor's preferred.
• 2+ years of nursing experience; leadership experience is desirable.
• Preferred: Surgical experience, team lead or charge experience, and 5–10 years of nursing experience with less than 2 years of supervisory experience.
