Assistant Nurse Manager- Emergency Room

About the role

The Assistant Nursing Manager oversees patient care, clinical personnel, and unit operations within the Greater Manchester Region of Hartford HealthCare. This role supervises a work group to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care in alignment with the hospital's strategic plan and departmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a work group to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient and family-centered care
• Collaborate with functional leadership to oversee daily operations of the assigned department, including off-shift and weekend supervision of nursing and non-licensed staff
• Manage resources, quality improvement, payroll, and create and maintain schedules for nursing and non-licensed staff
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic unit environment, including assisting as a staff RN as needed
• Support leadership in fostering standards of excellence and professional development
• Participate in and lead Performance Improvement work in the assigned department

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• Preferred: Master’s degree
• Preferred: At least one year of supervisory experience

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license

Skills

• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage resources and improve operational efficiency
• Experience in performance improvement and quality assurance
