Assistant Nurse Manager - Emergency Room

About the Role

This position involves coordinating patient care, managing personnel, maintaining equipment, and overseeing departmental operations in an emergency department setting.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, evaluate, and develop staff to ensure departmental productivity and support operational goals.
• Participate in staffing, budgeting, and responding to business changes to meet financial targets.
• Provide patient care tailored to age and developmental needs, creating collaborative care plans based on assessments and medical treatment.
• Manage staff scheduling, payroll, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions, ensuring effective communication and staffing levels.
• Monitor staff productivity and department performance, conducting performance evaluations and recommending improvements.

Requirements

• Minimum education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: 2-5 years in healthcare; 5-10 years preferred, with less than 2 years of supervisor experience preferred.
• Licenses: RN licensure required.
