Assistant Nurse Manager - Emergency Department

About the Role

The Assistant Nursing Manager is a Registered Nurse responsible for supervising patient care, clinical staff, and unit operations to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, patient- and family-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to oversee daily department operations, including off-shift and weekend supervision of nursing and non-licensed staff.
• Manage resources, quality improvement initiatives, payroll, staffing schedules, and patient throughput to maintain efficient clinical workflows.
• Ensure a safe, therapeutic environment, assisting as needed in staff RN roles.
• Support professional development and participate in performance improvement activities within the department.

Requirements

• BSN or in the process of completing one.
• Current CT RN license.
• Charge nurse or supervisory experience.
• 3-5 years of Emergency Department RN experience.
