Assistant Nurse Manager - Emergency
This position is Full-Time and will work 10-hour shifts. Typical shift hours are 2pm - 12am with rotating weekends. Flexibility of shift hours is required based on the needs of the department.
About the role
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional Registered Nurse reporting to the unit director/manager who utilizes the nursing process to manage clinical and operational activities within the assigned shift. The ANM supports the director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit, providing managerial presence for all shifts. The ANM manages clinical and non-clinical caregivers and provides input for performance evaluations.
Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced environment seeing an average of 240 patients per day. We are Level 4 Trauma Certified and a Stroke and STEMI receiving department.
Responsibilities
- Support the unit director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating unit services.
- Manage clinical and operational activities within assigned shift.
- Provide managerial presence for all shifts.
- Oversee clinical and non-clinical caregivers.
- Provide input for performance evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (BS or BSN) from a School of Nursing.
- Registered Nurses employed in this role prior to November 1, 2024, are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree, but it will not be a condition of employment.
- California Registered Nurse License (upon hire).
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association (upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
- Charge Nurse or Relief Charge Nurse experience.
- Leadership experience.
- Shared Governance experience.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $68.94 - $108.84 per hour. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range will be determined based on relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
