Assistant Nurse Manager - Acute Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery

Akron General’s 4200 Unit is a Complex Cardiovascular Unit that cares for a diverse patient population with high acuity. Patients that are cared for include: post open-heart surgery patients at day 3 from the CVICU, vascular surgery patients (amputations, fem/pop surgeries), lung surgeries (VATS procedure) that require patients to have a chest tube inserted for several days, irregular heart rhythms such as atrial fibrillation that requires titrated IV medication, post heart catheterization (PCI) patients that require frequent observation following the procedure, pacemaker implantations, heart attacks, congestive heart failure, and pulmonary embolism/DVT with IV anticoagulation.
Responsibilities
- Support the nurse manager with the supervision of RN caregivers and other assigned nursing support personnel.
- Work alongside the nurses, driving the OKRs, making sure fall precautions are in place, providing staff support and leading huddles.
- Instrumental in patient rounding, alarm management
