About the Role

The position involves leading a team to deliver quality nursing care, fostering a culture of service excellence, and managing workflows efficiently. The role also includes supporting the unit management team in ensuring strong workflow processes and infrastructures that promote efficient and effective quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for unit and departmental activities that promote quality nursing care, service excellence, and staff safety.
  • Ensures effective staffing schedules that consider staff experience, skill mix, preference, and core matrix.
  • Manages clinical problem solving and communication of clinical issues at all levels.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and service coordination.
  • Manages staff practice and professional behaviors using effective interpersonal skills and Just Culture methodology.
  • Trains, mentors, and evaluates staff, providing just-in-time feedback and addressing performance issues.
  • Promotes and supports a high-functioning environment that fosters continuing learning and professional development.
  • Participates in departmental policy/procedure development and interpretation for members of the healthcare team.
  • Assists in staff scheduling and internal relations.

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice registered nursing in the state of WA, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Minimum three years of professional nursing experience, including demonstrated skill and preference for adult education.
  • Proficient in EPIC.
  • Nursing certification eligible.
  • TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer certification preferred.

  • Communicates and works effectively with the physical and emotional development of all age groups.
  • Accesses information and communicates in an electronic environment including but not limited to the use of Microsoft Office suite, email, and computer documentation skills.
