Assistant Merchant (Bridal)
Supports the Merchant in executing product and assortment strategies for assigned jewelry categories, collaborating with merchant assortment coordination, store communication, and in-season management teams.
Responsibilities
- Supports the selection of styles in accordance with the Corporate Merchandise Strategy.
- Researches and identifies emerging trends.
- Assists in the development of exclusive designs that reflect the Shane model.
- Partners with merchants on pricing strategy and architecture.
- Responsible for Sales Growth/Trend assumptions and assortment extension opportunities alongside the Merchant.
- Executes Loose Stone Assortment Strategy.
- Builds and maintains concept sheets to support design intent, product vision, and assortment storytelling.
- Tracks and updates line plans and product documentation across internal systems.
- Monitors in-season sales and provides recaps or opportunities to the Merchant.
- Assists merchant in item maintenance such as discontinuations, basic style refreshes, and category-level SKU clean-up.
- Works with vendors on design, product, and style selection.
- Occasionally attends select jewelry shows to view the latest styles and build vendor rapport.
- Builds trend information and shares with training teams, store/vault, and marketing.
- Travels to select retail locations periodically to review specific trends for each market.
- Monitors and tracks store feedback, ensuring timely response to questions or concerns.
- Organizes insights to help guide merchants’ decision making.
- Partners with marketing to establish product and display standards.
Requirements
- 1+ years of previous fashion buying experience in retail.
- Demonstrated market fashion trend knowledge.
- Successful relationships with external vendors and internal teams (planning, marketing, stores).
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Merchandising, or related field or equivalent experience.

Work Environment
The primary environment for this role is a combination of an open office and a remote workplace. Considerable business is conducted using the telephone and computer technology. This role is expected to be on-site in Home Office 1-2 days per week on an ongoing basis. Travel may be required to stores, conferences, or events up to 10% of the time.

Pay
Base Pay range for this role is $80,000 - $112,000 annually. Your placement in the range is determined through interviews, a review of experience, knowledge, skills, balanced pay with other team members, and alignment with geographic market data. Home office base pay ranges are based on the Denver market. Most new hire offers target the lower end of the listed range, but more demonstrated experience, knowledge, and skills may result in a higher starting rate. Eligible for an annual bonus based on total company performance, varying by role and based on a percentage of eligible earnings for the fiscal year.
