The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in various aspects of the store, including sales, customer service, and store operations. Key duties include leading the store team in providing excellent customer service, supervising customer service levels, managing staffing during peak hours, assisting in the hiring process, ensuring proper handling of returns and exchanges, and performing store opening and closing duties.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  • Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom to include team member execution on customer service programs.
  • Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak business hours.
  • Aid in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring team members.
  • Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
  • Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
  • Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
  • Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
  • Ensure all merchandise is invoiced before leaving the store, including core charges and warranties.
  • Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, including adherence to the posted work schedule, changes, and deviations being approved by management, and team members clocking in/out correctly.
  • Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, verifying/securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring security measures, and managing delivery vehicles.
  • Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.

Requirements

  • Sales Specialist Training
  • Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification
  • Certified Parts Professional Certification (Desired)
  • ASE Certification (Desired)
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
