About the Role
Assist the Head Men’s Soccer Coach in building a highly successful Men’s soccer program and help create a culture of excellence for student-athletes. The role supports the philosophies and rules of NCAA Division III and the SCAC under the direction of the Head Coach.
Responsibilities
- Assist in game evaluation with specific responsibilities.
- Assist in pre-practice preparation and supervise specific areas of practice as directed by the Head Coach.
- Assist in recruiting and game management.
- Support all aspects of practice and daily activities for the development of the Varsity program.
- Maintain professional communication with all student-athletes.
- Assist with specific needs as directed by the Head Coach.
- Follow all NCAA rules and regulations as well as those of the SCAC.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
- Collegiate athletic experience preferred.
- Ability to relate to young adults and communicate effectively.
- Ability to work as a university team member and travel overnight with the team.
- Knowledge of and adherence to Schreiner University, SCAC, and NCAA policies.
- Ability to become certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED (updated annually).
- Valid coaching license preferred.
- Valid Texas driver’s license, related insurance, and a good driving record. Willingness to obtain a CDL if requested.
Working Conditions
- Out-of-town overnight travel for intercollegiate athletic contests, meetings, conferences, and recruiting efforts using a personal or university vehicle.
- Weekend and holiday work schedule when necessary.
- Overtime work required during the season and postseason for play, recruiting, and meetings.
- 75% walking or standing during the season and practice.
- 80% of time at a desk during the off-season.
- Driving of university vans to transport athletes to games.
