About the role
This position assists the head coach in recruiting, instructing, and monitoring student-athletes for Soccer. The role adheres to all rules and guidelines set forth by the College, NJCAA, and MCCAA.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment of prospective student-athletes
- Recruit top local athletes based on both athletic and academic performance
- Submit list of recruits for grant approval
- Develop preliminary scheduling and season plans
- Supervise volunteer coaches and student-athletes (academic, practice, and games)
- Foster sportsmanship and fair play
- Coordinate practices and game and team travel
- Absorb and comply with all standards, rules, and regulations of the NJCAA and MCCAA
- Adhere to the administrative policies of the College and Athletic Department, including travel regulations, scholarships, and purchase orders
- Foster a positive image for the College and Athletic Department
- Promote and track student community service and academic performance as required
- Refer student-athletes to appropriate College resources when needed
- Engage in athletic program fund development
- Support student athlete preparation and referral when athletic and academic transfer is the goal
- Understand, support, and demonstrate the College’s beliefs, values, mission, and vision
Qualifications
- Associate Degree, credential, or equivalent credits from an accredited undergraduate institution
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Health Promotion, or related field preferred
- Three or more years of experience serving as a coach in a college, high school, or club setting
- College coaching experience preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment
- Valid Driver's License
