Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Position Summary

SUNY Ulster, a two-year branch of the State University of New York located in the Catskill Mountains, is seeking an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach for the 2026-2027 season. The position involves all aspects of the program, including recruitment, travel, practice and game preparation, and promoting the program.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes on a national and international level.
• Aid in managing the recruiting database of potential recruits.
• Develop and execute a recruiting plan.
• Plan and organize on-campus visits.
• Support the NJCAA basketball program, including knowledge of the sport, coaching strategies, and student-athlete development.
• Aid in overall program planning and organization.
• Travel with the team to away competitions and assist with team travel coordination.
• Aid/coordinate social media platforms.
• Aid in alumni events.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
• Work within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and head coaches.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff, and alumni.
• Commit to the Department of Athletics mission and values of education through Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Previous Coaching Experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Collegiate Playing Experience

Salary

$2,500 for the entire term October 1, 2026 - March 16, 2027.
