Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Assists the Head Coach in all aspects of running an NCAA Division III Basketball program, including teaching and coaching student athletes, recruiting highly selective high school senior athletes, developing and implementing game strategies, and leading physical training and practice organization.
Responsibilities
- Direct the work of student workers and volunteer assistant coaches.
- Serve on departmental committees.
- Represent the University of Chicago in professional, alumni, and civic functions.
- Comply with institutional, University Athletic Association, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Extensive domestic travel required.
- Secondary departmental responsibilities will be assigned by the Athletic Director.
- Drive for recruiting purposes as required for all coaching staff.
- Participate in staff meetings, individual planning meetings, and parent-student staffings with a moderate/high level of authority.
- Assist staff in planning and executing events.
- Perform other related work as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.
- 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (preferred).
- Minimum of two years of significant and relevant playing or teaching/coaching experience in Men’s Basketball at the professional, collegiate, or high school level.
- Familiarity with NCAA rules and Division III philosophy.
- CPR/First Aid certification (may be fulfilled upon employment).
- Valid Driver’s License.

- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and other software.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments concurrently.

Working Conditions
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
Pay
$40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
