About the Role

The Assistant Manager Slot Technical executes department directives, objectives, and communications under the direction of the Manager, Slot Technical. This role assists in planning and executing all slot machine and slot system-related projects and oversees the daily activities of Technical Supervisors and team members. Additionally, the Assistant Manager serves as the project leader, responsible for projects from concept to final implementation, and develops training plans to address strategic department needs related to technical advancement, efficiency, and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Executes technical department directives, objectives, and communications to Slot Technical Supervisors and team members.
  • Develops and leads functional teams and sub-teams to implement and deliver project results.
  • Hires, motivates, and mentors staff to ensure commitment to excellence and quality service.
  • Collects and organizes data to track goal milestones, project dependencies, and organizational efficiencies.
  • Reports on the progress of projects, directives, objectives, and training initiatives.
  • Assists in planning and implementing slot machine, slot system, and slot technology-related projects.
  • Inspects technical storage areas to ensure efficient usage and plans logistical tasks to maximize inventory of slot parts and hardware.
  • Ensures slot machines are maintained, operational, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support department efficiency.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, reviewing, and directing work.
  • Evaluates and appraises employee performance, rewards and disciplines employees, and addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning for key roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in slot machine installation, configuration, maintenance, and slot online systems.

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in slot accounting, player tracking systems, slot systems analysis, and functional design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users and senior executives.
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with internal and external clients, as well as third-party service/product providers.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Experience demonstrating discretion and confidentiality, particularly with access to financial data.

Licenses and Certifications

At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Primary work environment is a climate-controlled office setting.
  • Travel required to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • May be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, with constant computer and office machinery use.
  • Physical activities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient for conversational levels in person, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to be understood in person, in groups, in meetings, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing computer terminals, reading, and inspecting employees, visitors, or facilities.
  • Mobility sufficient to move safely in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and operate a motor vehicle for travel.
  • Endurance to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods and maintain efficiency throughout the work shift and extended hours.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including secondhand smoke.
