Youth For Tomorrow is a 501(c)(3) and a faith based, non-profit organization, founded in 1986 by Hall of Fame Football Coach Joe Gibbs. The organization is large, diverse, experienced and committed to serving at-risk youth. In our residential treatment program, we serve males and females ages 12 to 18 years old to include youth with varying mental health diagnoses, survivors of trauma, PSB, pregnant and parenting teens, and survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely completion of the required Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Unaccompanied Child Assessment and Assessment for Risk within 72 hours of Unaccompanied Child's arrival.
• Rule out any symptom-based diagnoses identified by Nursing component in the IME.
• Provide input associated with the counseling component of the program to the Case Managers through inputting Case Review information in the UC Portal every 30 days for each UC in case load.
• Assess for Trafficking concerns and be ready to refer qualified UCs to the Office on Trafficking in Persons (OTIP) Division of ORR.
• Facilitate progress group therapy and various topical groups through the Counseling program on a weekly basis.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach in your clinical support on an on-going basis to the residential and education component team members.
• Be available for on-call mental health crises.
• Participate as an active member of the weekly federal staffing.
• Responsible to communicate any mental health/behavior concerns to ORR representatives and clinical team.
• Work with Case Managers to make a recommendation for the appropriate discharge from YFT.
• Provide Case Managers with any necessary Mental Health input for reunification of client.

Supervision of Evaluation Team

• Interview Potential Placements (as needed).
• Provide weekly supervision meetings to assigned therapists in accordance with Lead Clinician's guidance.
• Be available to provide guidance to subordinates in regards to cases, diagnosis, and safety planning.
• If requested by Lead Clinician, Assign clients/cases to therapists as Placement Approvals are received, ensuring caseloads remain evenly distributed and manageable. Assignments can be changed if necessary to make sure there is an optimal therapeutic fit based on clinicians' skillset as well as clients presenting issues.
• Oversee Clinicians with regard to file management, appropriate documentation, communication, and regulatory compliance.
• Co-facilitate internal case elevation meetings.
• Review ORR File documentation for completion, accuracy, and quality standards.

Clinical Duties

As it is expected this position will have a reduced case load, the expectation of the case load as it exists will be as follows:

• Provide input associated with the counseling component of the program to the Case Managers every thirty days by the time the Case Review is due. If Long Term Foster Care cases are included, this is due every ninety days.
• Perform individual therapy for residents as requested by supervisor.
• Assess and diagnose individuals as necessary as an LMHP.
• Organize and implement family group therapy as needed or requested by the FFS. This may involve weekend or evening work.
• Facilitate progress group therapy and various topical groups through the Counseling program on a weekly basis.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach in your clinical support on an on-going basis to the residential and education component team members.
• As a clinician, must be accessible via phone for consultation on mental health issues surrounding your clients or other residents if needed.
• Participate as an active member of the Evaluation Team.
• Responsible to communicate team review with necessary individuals in resident's life.

Quarterly Reporting

• HHS Clinical Numbers by due date set by the VP of Programs (Separate reports for Shelter, LTFC, and IFC).

Supervision & Coverage

• LMHP's are expected to provide board approved social work or counseling supervision.
• LMHP's are expected to provide board approved social work or counseling supervision to those going for licensure for no remuneration. If a board-approved supervisor is needed one will be provided by YFT if the individual is on our staff and the respective board approves.
• Expected to cover for UIM Lead Clinician in short and extended leaves of absence.

Training & Compliance

• Attend all training mandated by YFT, licensing agencies, accreditation and cooperative agreements.
• All duties and responsibilities will support meeting the structured program of care outlined in DBHDS and DSS state standards (DBHDS: 12VAC 35-46-800; DSS: 22 VAC 40-151-720) and under the guidance of the Federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
• Other duties as assigned by the CEO, VP of Residential Services, Assistant VP of ORR Services, or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree and licensure (LMHP) to provide counseling services or on a licensure track.
• Demonstrated ability to work with adolescents and families in a counseling setting and function within an evaluation team format.
• Ability to assess treatment needs and deliver appropriate interventions.
• Ability to maintain all required documentation.
• Fluent in English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills.
• Professionally facilitate counseling functions as they apply to our milieu of care.
