About the role
The Assistant Instructor supports the mission of PPCWNY by maintaining a positive environment at The Connection and assisting in the creation and implementation of sexual health, youth development, and recreational programs.
Responsibilities
- Maintains the Connection Environment
- Supports The Connection Coordinator to implement all Connection activities
- Provides leadership for youth that aligns with best practices and PPCWNY’s mission
- Maintains control of the facility through implementation of procedures and policies
- Serves as a positive role model for participants and develops healthy relationships
- Assists with the facilitation of programming
- Engages in recreational activities with Connection participants
- Works with Youth Catalysts to create social media content
- Recruits and engages Connection participants
- Assists with other duties as deemed necessary
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work effectively as a team member with The Connection team
- Engage appropriately with parents and the public
- Establish rapport and build healthy relationships with Connection participants
- Availability during after school hours and on occasional weekends
- Proficiency in two or more languages
- A commitment to PPCWNY’s mission, vision, and values
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with or without an accommodation
- Possess sufficient mobility to perform Essential Functions
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to work effectively as a team member, engage appropriately with parents and the public, establish rapport and build healthy relationships, and demonstrate proficiency in two or more languages
Benefits & Compensation
- Pay Range: $17.28 to $20.09/hour

Work Schedule
This is a full-time (35 hours per week) position; schedule varies including Monday to Friday with occasional weekends and holidays.
