About the role

The Assistant Teacher FT position at Westminster Canterbury in Richmond, VA is responsible for supporting the classroom environment and assisting the Lead Teacher in managing the daily operations of the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment
• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and communicate regularly with families about their child's progress
• Help manage classroom supplies and resources
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the school

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children in a school setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, and evenings

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Valid Virginia teaching license or ability to obtain one within six months

Pay
