Assistant II- Referral Center- PT Day Shift
Position Summary
Incumbent works in a high volume Referral Center to establish, support and maintain relationships with internal and external referral entities, such as medical groups, IPA's, Health Plans and community physicians.
About the role
Working knowledge of MS Office products
Understanding of medical terminology as well as insurance programs and payors
Minimum 1 to 2 years experience in a Customer Service position within the health care environment
Knowledge of hospital based registration/scheduling system to register patients
Demonstrated skill to communicate via telephone and handle extremely high volume of phone calls
Ability to problem solve, negotiate and research for answers
Ability to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner
Ability to appropriately deal with stressful situations and individuals while remaining calm and professional
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external referral entities
- Support and assist in the coordination of patient referrals
- Handle inquiries and concerns from patients and healthcare providers
- Manage high volume of phone calls and emails
- Research and resolve issues related to insurance coverage and payment processes
- Ensure accurate and timely patient information is maintained in the referral system
Requirements
- Minimum 1 to 2 years experience in a Customer Service position within the health care environment

Qualifications
Previous call center experience
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
Skills
