Assistant Human Resources Manager

About the role

Iowa Premium, a National Beef Company, in Tama, Iowa, is seeking a qualified professional to join our team as Assistant Human Resources Manager. This is a safety sensitive, on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with plant hiring, terminations, disciplines, payroll and records keeping
• Maintain the training programs, insurance policies, company benefits
• Handle all administrative actions in HR – i.e. Kronos, Payroll, Attendance policy/bonus, benefits, newsletter and other policies
• Maintain company Vacations, daily reports, monthly reports, quarterly reports
• Manage other projects needed by Human Resource Manager
• Present write ups for attendance, tardiness and performance issues if necessary
• Ensure compliance with Agency, State and Federal policies, procedures and regulations
• Provide guidance/assistance to employees and supervisors on HR policies
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPPA
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Preferred bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, but not required
• 3+ years of experience in HR, preferably in the food distribution or warehouse industry
• Knowledge of labor laws, safety regulations, and HR best practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and HR software (e.g., iCIMS, UKG, etc.)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Basic office and math skills
• Bilingual preferred but not required
• Familiarity with National Beef Liberal facility and company policies preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
