Assistant Girls Basketball Coach - Albemarle HS

About the role

The successful candidate will coach girls basketball at Albemarle High School. The position requires previous basketball coaching experience, preferably at the middle and high school levels. Experience working with adolescents and flexibility in schedule are preferred, with practices scheduled between 4:30 - 6:30 M-F and later on game nights.

Responsibilities

• Develop and train AA student-athletes
• Organize and prepare practice schedules
• Emphasize team work and good sportsmanship
• Work collaboratively with other coaches and staff
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the community
• Adhere to VHSL rules and regulations

Qualifications

• Knowledge of VHSL rules and regulations
• Ability to develop and train AA student-athletes
• Positive relations with high school student-athletes, parents, and the community
• Extensive knowledge of individual and team fundamentals of basketball
• Ability to organize and prepare practice schedules
• Ability to develop a solid discipline emphasizing team work and good sportsmanship
• Previous coaching experience is required
• Prior to employment, candidates must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license
