About the role
The successful candidate will lead the girls volleyball program at Albemarle High School.
Responsibilities
- Coaching volleyball at the middle and high school age levels
- Attending practices between 4:30 - 6:30 M-F and later on game nights
- Working collaboratively with other coaches and staff
- Developing and training student-athletes
- Ensuring adherence to VHSL rules and regulations
- Providing instruction to student-athletes
- Making regular travel arrangements with student-athletes to and from matches
- Maintaining regular contact with coaches, administrators, parents, and the media
Qualifications
- Knowledge of VHSL rules and regulations
- Ability to develop and train AA student-athletes
- Positive relations with high school student-athletes, parents, and the community
- Extensive knowledge of the principles of individual and team fundamentals of volleyball
- Ability to organize and prepare practice schedules
- Ability to develop a solid discipline that emphasizes team work and good sportsmanship
- Previous coaching experience is required
- Prior to employment, candidates must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license
