Girls Tennis Assistant Coach - Albemarle HS

About the role

Part-time, temporary assistant coaching position for the girls tennis program at Albemarle High School. Work hours are after school and on weekends. Regular travel with student-athletes to and from matches is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of VHSL rules and regulations
• Ability to develop and train student-athletes
• Strong interpersonal skills for positive relations with student-athletes, parents, and the community
• Extensive knowledge of individual and team fundamentals of tennis
• Ability to organize and prepare practice schedules
• Ability to develop discipline emphasizing teamwork and good sportsmanship
• Previous coaching experience required
• Coaching and/or playing experience helpful
• Preference given to candidates who hold or are eligible for a Virginia teaching license

Physical requirements & work environment

• Duties performed in school settings including gym and recreational areas
• Frequent walking, standing, light lifting, and other physical activities required
• Daily personal and close contact with student-athletes to provide instruction
• Regular travel with student-athletes to and from matches
• Regular contact with other coaches, administrators, parents, and the media

Compensation

Coaching stipend provided.

Schedule

After school and weekend hours.
