Assistant General Manager
About the role
As an Assistant General Manager at Victra, the largest Verizon authorized retailer in the United States, you’ll lead a sales team and create outstanding customer experiences in one of our retail stores. You’ll drive sales targets, manage financials, oversee store merchandising, and foster an in-store environment that builds brand loyalty and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Lead by example on the sales floor, demonstrating best practices in customer interactions.
- Coach and motivate team members through one-on-one mentoring to elevate performance.
- Set and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals for the team.
- Train and mentor staff to deliver an outstanding customer experience, managing customer flow and store traffic.
- Identify skill gaps in selling and implement development plans to meet and exceed sales metrics and quotas.
- Oversee store operations, including staffing needs, financial and sales reporting, cash handling, and compliance.
- Open trouble tickets with Facilities, Network, or IT to ensure store functionality and uptime.
- Monitor inventory, restock shelves, maintain device security, and ensure store cleanliness.
- Lead store merchandising and ensure planogram compliance according to company standards.
- Perform store opening and closing activities.
- Drive collective responsibility for achieving daily, weekly, and monthly store targets.
- Resolve customer issues and assist with transactions, especially when the General Manager is absent.
Requirements
- Background in customer service within retail, restaurant, or wireless industry (preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or leadership role.
- Management experience in a commissions-based sales environment.
- Proven track record of achieving challenging team and individual sales goals.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience setting goals, evaluating performance, and developing high-performing teams.
- Basic interview skills and staffing knowledge.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One or more years of customer service experience, preferably in retail or sales.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak periods (e.g., November through December).
- At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Pay
Assistant General Managers earn a national average annual salary of $43,000 to $67,000, combining a base hourly rate of $19.00 plus uncapped commission.
Training Requirements
- Complete a 4-day New Hire University (NHU) training program within 30 days of start date (may include overnight travel at company expense).
- Complete a 3-day General Manager University (SMU) training program within 30 days of finishing NHU (may include overnight travel at company expense).
- Complete various online and computer-based training throughout employment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to ten pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
