About the Role

Oversee the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School daily operations including staffing, pool operations, cash management, customer service, retail and vending department, private party operations, and workplace employee activities. This is a leadership role perfect for someone with management experience who enjoys working with children and wants to make a difference in a fun, fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and control daily operations to ensure the school runs according to Goldfish Swim School standard operating procedures.
  • Assist the General Manager and department managers with fulfilling daily tasks.
  • Manage staff to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction.
  • Train and oversee the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction.
  • Interact with Deck Supervisors and Golden Teachers on class scheduling, student progress, customer service, and employee performance and training.
  • Provide sales and marketing training to all qualified sales staff.
  • Direct the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing.
  • Train and oversee private party staff to maintain Goldfish Swim School standard operating procedures.
  • Gain knowledge and experience in Links software for bookings, class scheduling, reporting, and administrative functions.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge in pool operations to ensure a safe and sanitary swim environment.
  • Initiate and oversee workplace employee activities ("Fun" Department) to improve employee satisfaction.
  • Direct and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures; train staff on the Goldfish Swim School EAP.
  • Maintain current certifications and stay up-to-date professionally in the aquatics and management field.
  • Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work with children.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Weekend availability required.
  • 2+ years of management or leadership experience.
  • Must pass background examinations (included with training).
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required.
  • Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred.

Qualifications

  • Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification required.
  • Shallow water attendant certification highly recommended.
