About the role
Barry’s is the original strength and cardio interval fitness experience that provides an immersive, high-intensity, one-hour workout alternating between weights and treadmills. Each day focuses on a different muscle group to tone muscle, maximize fat loss, and spike metabolism for up to 48 hours following class. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas of Barry’s studios and corporate offices.
Responsibilities
- Studio Operations
- Collaborate with Operations leadership to preserve corporate mission, vision, and values.
- Maintain a 40-hour weekly presence in studio, embodying brand standards.
- Lead studio team to exceed class, fuel bar, and retail sales targets.
- Serve as leader on duty: oversee class check-ins, studio opening/closing, and staff supervision.
- Partner with GM to analyze KPIs (paid attendance, first-timers, utilization, conversion, labor) and present insights to regional leadership weekly/monthly.
- Participate in monthly studio business unit meetings reviewing P&L and growth opportunities.
- Conduct brand audits and manage facilities projects to ensure clean, updated spaces.
- Provide operational support including studio accounting, timecards, inventory, ordering, and scheduling.
- Team Management
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment for team members and clients.
- Assist GM with hiring, coaching, onboarding, and developing a high-performing team.
- Supervise and mentor staff on shift to deliver exceptional client experiences.
- Drive teamwork, collaboration, and cohesion to meet daily operational needs.
- Promote a performance culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and goal achievement.
- Provide hands-on coaching, training, and development across departments.
- Operate autonomously in alignment with Barry’s code of conduct when GM is absent.
- Hospitality Management
- Oversee implementation and execution of hospitality processes and training.
- Ensure consistent client experience aligned with mission, vision, values, and standards.
- Oversee milestone, loyalty, and surprise-and-delight programs to drive community and retention.
- Manage Studio Systems
- Oversee Zendesk and Brandbot to resolve and escalate client matters swiftly.
- Community Marketing and Business Development
- Drive business through clienteling, new customer acquisition, and relationship building.
- Identify opportunities to recognize, engage, and resolve conflicts within the community.
- Partner with GM and marketing leadership to localize and implement national campaigns.
- Oversee and report on the impact of the community-building budget.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of fitness management or related experience (hospitality, retail, food/beverage, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Availability for full-time work during non-traditional hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to train, lead, motivate, and delegate to a team.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
- Ability to work cooperatively with diverse personalities and across departments, vendors, and clients.
- Exceptional written and oral communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Proven dependability and reliability.
- Friendly, outgoing personality and can-do, optimistic attitude.

- Ability to kneel, bend, reach, climb, and stand for long durations.

Pay
$70,000 USD per year (Upper West Side)
