Role summary
A highly experienced attorney who works independently, assumes major matter, team or client responsibilities, and often supervises professional teams. The role involves handling matters of very substantial importance and providing leadership and mentorship to other attorneys on a project‑specific basis.
Responsibilities
- Specialist in one or more fields of law, delivering technical and expert legal services to Constellation business units.
- Plan, conduct, and supervise large, highly complex legal assignments with minimal supervision; evaluate legal and business risks and advise clients; represent Constellation in transactions, litigation, or other matters.
- Provide legal counsel to all management levels, including senior leadership.
- Lead and direct less‑experienced attorneys and support staff on projects.
- Prepare and revise budgets and early matter assessments for all matters involving outside counsel.
- Execute additional projects and duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications
- LLB or JD from an accredited law school and licensure to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions.
- 10–12 years of professional experience in a specialized area of law.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal principles, practices, and procedures applied to complex assignments.
- Excellent legal research and analytical abilities with ongoing knowledge of federal and/or state law.
Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of experience handling retail energy commodity transactional work.
- Experience in the ERCOT market (highly preferred).
- Experience in multiple RTO and ISO markets (a plus).
- Experience with PPA, wholesale transactions, and REC transactions (a plus).
- Experience drafting and structuring complex energy products and transactions with business partners.
- Ability to actively contribute ideas and solutions in a fast‑paced environment.

Pay
Expected salary range: $219,600 – $244,000, varying based on experience, plus the comprehensive benefits package described above.
