ASSISTANT FINANCIAL COUNSELOR
Summary
The Assistant Financial Counselor supports the daily operations of the Business Office by triaging patient flow, coordinating and scheduling virtual meetings, and assisting patients with billing inquiries. They also oversee the Business Office phone queue, handle financial assistance documentation, and manage patient information.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage service needs for patients presenting in person at the business office
- Coordination and management of Financial Assistance documentation
- Track, process, and coordinate itemized billing requests and inbound mail
- Manages multiple work queues, worklists, and reports across several systems
- Oversees inbound clinic staff calls within the Business Office call queue
Education and Credentials
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum one (1) year experience in a healthcare setting
Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required
- Excellent communication skills and customer service recovery skills
- Strong attention to detail while being able to multi-task and maintain patience and composure (with customer service etiquette)
- Customer Service, multi-tasking, computer and typing skills, use various types of office automation equipment and software, and interpersonal communication skills both verbally and written
- Possess strong critical thinking abilities such as problem solving, root cause analysis, and provide timely solutions
- Computer skills along with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Salary Range
Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
