Assistant Facilities Manager
About the role
The Assistant Facilities Manager supports the facilities organization at a specific location, set of buildings, or campus environment under the supervision of the Facilities Manager. The role involves ensuring day-to-day operations, responding to tenant needs, and maintaining a safe and well-maintained environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure day-to-day operations of the facility(s) or campus, including janitorial, life-safety, engineering, site services, and general maintenance.
- Supervise all maintenance programs and respond promptly to requests from building occupants.
- Compile and prepare various reports and documentation as required.
- Aid in developing and managing capital budgets for the facility.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with insurance requirements and manage claims.
- Proactively inspect the facility and report findings to the Facility Manager.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in commercial or industrial real estate with facility management experience.
- Experience in maintenance, construction, engineering, and all facets of property operation and building management.
- Proficiency in CMMS/Work Order Management.
Qualifications
- A degree in facilities management, building, business, or a related field, with an associate’s degree preferred.
- CMFM, IFMA, BOMA industry certifications recommended.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, leadership, and financial management skills.
- Ability to read and understand construction specifications and blueprints.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills
- Excellent computer and systems knowledge.
- Strong literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong discipline of financial management including financial tracking, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Knowledge of Financial Systems (Yardi a plus).

Pay
$34.00 - $40.00 per hour
