About the Role
Under the direction of the Restaurant Manager or Assistant F&B Director – Casual Dining, assists in the management and operation of a food and/or beverage outlet in the Food and Beverage Department. Outlets include:
- Blue Coyote Café and Cantina
- Room Service
- Black Fig
- Resort Pools
- Poker
- Bingo Salt River Café
- The Coffee Station
- Sports Bar
- Taqueria
- Willows Restaurant
- Eagles Buffet
Directly manages Lead Restaurant, Dining and Beverage Supervisors who, in turn, manage support staff. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
Leadership & Community Development
Actively supports Enrolled Community Members (ECMs) of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRP-MIC) through the Pathways to Success Program, designed to provide ECMs with quality casino work experience, educational opportunities, and leadership preparation. Responsibilities include:
- Program Awareness and Communication: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Pathways to Success programs and ensure ECMs are informed about relevant opportunities.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Actively mentor ECMs, offering guidance on career pathways and facilitating connections to additional coaching resources.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate time and budget to support ECMs’ participation in developmental activities, such as courses, certifications, or conferences.
- Development Planning: Collaborate with ECMs to create and regularly review individual development plans, setting measurable goals and tracking progress.
- Barrier Removal: Identify and address obstacles that may hinder ECMs’ career growth, advocating for their needs within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Ensures excellent customer service for every guest, every time; resolves guest complaints and interacts with customers regularly.
- Ensures compliance with state and departmental sanitation and personal hygiene requirements.
- Executes Food and Beverage department policies and procedures.
- Provides supervision and support for all employees in the department, ensuring hiring practices, disciplinary actions, and employee expectations align with company policies.
- Reviews supply inventory reports and orders necessary items.
- Verifies validity of casino complimentary slips and assembles work schedules.
- Establishes and administers training programs in conjunction with the Manager.
- Oversees outlets in the absence of the Manager.
- Prepares and coordinates periodic performance evaluations of personnel.
- Maintains and instructs assigned personnel on safety and health standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures designated work areas, flatware, glassware, dinnerware, and other serving items are free from hazards (e.g., chips, breaks, liquid on the floor).
- Hires and trains Tribal Members consistent with the casino’s Community and Indian Preference guidelines.
- Maintains a work schedule as required by management, making oneself available based on business needs.
- Completes job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner.
- Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate among all company employees.
- Keeps Restaurant/Beverage Manager and Assistant F&B Director informed of all issues, taking prompt corrective action or suggesting alternative courses of action.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance requirements through annual training and enforces regulations to protect cardholder data.
- Enforces all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, including reporting suspicious activity of customers or employees.
- Attends annual Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of high-volume restaurant experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- POS experience strongly preferred; InfoGenesis POS system experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Arizona State Liquor Laws (Title 4) and/or Arizona Alcohol Awareness certification preferred.
- Must possess a Maricopa County Food Handler's Card.
- Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office, timekeeping/payroll systems (UKG preferred), and inventory/purchasing systems (SWS preferred).

Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to secondary smoke.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
