Duties

  • Screens visitors/phone calls and handles routine assignments for concurrence.
  • Schedules meetings and provides supporting material and information for all meetings.
  • Processes and distributes incoming documents addressed to the supervisor.
  • Tracks and reviews responses to various individuals and groups.
  • Makes travel arrangements and requests reimbursement of travel expenses.
  • Serves as a project manager on sensitive tasks.
  • Serves as a liaison between the supervisor and his/her direct reports, the Board of Directors, TVA management, and outside contacts.
  • Controls and prioritizes the flow of both internal and external information.
  • Prepares and reviews responses in conformance with TVA’s and the office’s policies and procedures.
  • Provides performance information on staff as necessary.
  • Serves in emergency operation centers as requested.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Approximately four or more years experience as Administrative Associate or equivalent.
  • Certified Professional Secretary certification is desirable.
  • Professional demeanor; highly organized; tact, integrity, and flexibility.
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a team environment, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A general knowledge of TVA’s overall programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and applicable PC packages.
  • Internet savvy; experience with databases, scheduling, project management, and web-based tools.
  • Familiarity with TVA automated/on-line systems such as payroll, correspondence tracking, and travel.
  • Willingness to participate in overtime assignments as necessitated by work demands and schedules.
