Duties
- Screens visitors/phone calls and handles routine assignments for concurrence.
- Schedules meetings and provides supporting material and information for all meetings.
- Processes and distributes incoming documents addressed to the supervisor.
- Tracks and reviews responses to various individuals and groups.
- Makes travel arrangements and requests reimbursement of travel expenses.
- Serves as a project manager on sensitive tasks.
- Serves as a liaison between the supervisor and his/her direct reports, the Board of Directors, TVA management, and outside contacts.
- Controls and prioritizes the flow of both internal and external information.
- Prepares and reviews responses in conformance with TVA’s and the office’s policies and procedures.
- Provides performance information on staff as necessary.
- Serves in emergency operation centers as requested.
Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- Approximately four or more years experience as Administrative Associate or equivalent.
- Certified Professional Secretary certification is desirable.
- Professional demeanor; highly organized; tact, integrity, and flexibility.
- Ability to multi-task, work in a team environment, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- A general knowledge of TVA’s overall programs, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and applicable PC packages.
- Internet savvy; experience with databases, scheduling, project management, and web-based tools.
- Familiarity with TVA automated/on-line systems such as payroll, correspondence tracking, and travel.
- Willingness to participate in overtime assignments as necessitated by work demands and schedules.
