Responsibilities

  • Assist with emergency mitigation, response planning, training, and the implementation of vital recovery strategies.
  • Train staff on disaster and emergency procedures, ensuring everyone is well-prepared for any situation.
  • Manage emergencies in the absence of the Emergency Manager, leading effectively and upholding the community's safety standards.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A current CPR basic certification; either as a certified instructor or willing to obtain certification within two years of hire.
  • One year of experience in emergency management activities and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • The ability to work within a team-oriented environment.
  • Desirable experience working with volunteers and emergency operations.
  • A valid Nevada Driver’s License.

Qualifications

  • Must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Must have current CPR basic certification and be a CPR certified instructor or be able to obtain instructor certification within two years of date of hire.
  • Experience in emergency management activities with one year in a responsible administrative position and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work within a team concept with employees and community.
  • Strong communication skills: both orally and written.
  • Ability to develop and provide training to RSIC staff, LEPC, and community on emergency related topics.
  • A valid Nevada Driver’s License. Must qualify under RSIC motor vehicle insurance carrier.
