About the role
The Part-Time Diving Coach assists the Head Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Coach in all aspects of the University's NCAA Division II diving program. Responsibilities include coaching, student-athlete development, recruiting, and supporting a positive, competitive team culture while ensuring compliance with NCAA, conference, and University policies.
Responsibilities
- Represent the University of Bridgeport and the Athletic Department in a positive manner with a high degree of integrity and quality.
- Promote and support the University of Bridgeport and its mission.
- Promote and support the University of Bridgeport Athletic Department’s program mission and goals.
- Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the department and the University, as well as the rules and regulations of the NCAA, NE10 and any other authorities that affect the intercollegiate athletic program.
- Coach and develop NCAA Division II divers in springboard 1M & 3M events through daily practices and competition.
- Design and implement training plans emphasizing technical skill development, safety, and performance improvement.
- Provide individualized instruction, video analysis, and meet preparation.
- Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes who align with the University's academic and athletic standards.
- Aid in travel, meet management, equipment maintenance, and other program operations.
- Foster academic success, sportsmanship, leadership, and personal development among student-athletes.
- Maintain compliance with all NCAA Division II, conference, and University rules and regulations.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to support the overall success of the men's and women's swimming and diving program.

- Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity.
- Education, Training and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred; CPR/AED certification; College participation and/or coaching preferred; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Coaching and/or participation at collegiate level preferred; demonstrated ability and passion to teach and demonstrate skills in diving.
