About the role

Amarr (a part of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in opening solutions) is seeking a hands-on, experienced Assistant Distribution Center Manager (Service Manager) to join our team in Rochester, NY. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys managing a dynamic team with an all-hands-on-deck approach and being directly involved in directing day-to-day warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate assembly, work schedules (including temporary personnel as needed), and warehouse operations to ensure service levels are met.
  • Establish and enforce operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and warehouse inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate programs regarding safety, security, equipment care, and facility maintenance.
  • Enforce OSHA compliance to maintain an injury-free workplace.
  • Oversee all aspects of hourly warehouse staff, including hiring, development, supervision, direction, and termination.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Working Conditions

  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating hand/power tools.
  • Extended periods on feet, walking distances up to 200 feet.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying, and lifting (up to 75 lbs.).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of distribution center/warehouse supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement activities strongly preferred.
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • College education or equivalent related experience.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Proven supervisory, leadership, and motivational skills.
  • Proficiency with PC/Windows and mechanical aptitude with power tools.
  • Must pass background, drug, and MVR screenings.

Pay

Compensation ranges from $71,608 to $95,828, considering factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs.
