About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Distribution Center Manager (Service Manager) to oversee the overall operation and profitability of our Concord, NC distribution center. This role services local customers and a network of other regional distribution centers. As a hands-on leader, you’ll guide and develop warehouse and driver teams, uphold operational and safety standards, and step in as acting General Manager when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a courteous, customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Manage P&L, including reviewing operational costs, budget performance, variance, and monitoring key performance metrics and profitability of the HUB door center.
  • Staff, develop, train, direct, and supervise hourly team members, including warehouse staff, drivers (box truck & CDL), and production teams.
  • Coordinate assembly, work schedules, and warehouse operations to meet service-level targets.
  • Establish and enforce operational procedures for verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling merchandise, and maintaining warehouse inventory.
  • Ensure availability of parts required for warehouse assembly and production by coordinating with the General Manager.
  • Enforce corporate programs regarding safety, security, equipment care, and facility maintenance.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance and maintain an “injury-free” workplace.
  • Inspect warehouse facilities and equipment, recommend changes in space allocation and storage procedures to the General Manager.
  • Schedule needed maintenance for warehouse and equipment.
  • Investigate customer complaints involving damaged items, overcharges, or shipment delays, and confer with the General Manager on necessary adjustments.

Requirements

  • College education or related experience.
  • Demonstrable supervisory, leadership, and motivational skills.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, Kanban, Gemba, and KPIs strongly preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Word.
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license (including endorsements/class requirements as per State & DOT regulations).
  • Must pass a DOT physical and maintain a DOT medical card during employment.
  • Motor vehicle report must meet Amarr driver standards.
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with power tools.

Physical Demands

  • Work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse facility.
  • Extended time on feet, walking distances up to 200 feet.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying, and lifting (50-75 pounds).

Schedule

Monday - Friday (occasional weekend days as necessary).
