Assistant Distribution Center Manager
About the Role
We are looking for a high-energy, hands-on Assistant Distribution Center Manager who thrives in a lead-by-example environment. In this role, you will work with the local Distribution Center Manager to oversee a team dedicated to processing orders effectively and efficiently in a 5S model.
Responsibilities
- Process daily orders to ensure 100% customer satisfaction—this is a hands-on job requiring multitasking across multiple priorities throughout the day.
- Collaborate closely with local and national sales teams to meet all customer-specific order requirements in a timely manner.
- Assist in employee training and development, ensuring adherence to procedures and standards.
- Support the DC Manager with non-order-related tasks, including facilities management, safety, security, equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
- Lead the team in the absence of the DC Manager, handling team leadership, timeclock requests, and facility maintenance.
- Fill in for specific production areas when volume demands.
- Open and close the facility as needed.
- Work in a warehouse setting, with the ability to lift 50–75 lbs. repetitively and stand for 75–100% of the workday.
- Be "on call" for emergencies as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in warehouse or distribution center operations, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Comfortable in a high-urgency production environment.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to direct both sales and distribution staff.
- Experience with RF technology and computerized Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Distribution, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- Certifications in Distribution, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
- Military training and/or experience.
- Bilingual proficiency.
