About the role

Assist the Director of Clinical Services in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Services department at Brookdale Greenwood Village SNF. The facility is budgeted for 3.5 PPD and offers an excellent location with easy access to light rail, I-25, and Arapahoe Road. Responsibilities

• Assist the Director, Clinical Services in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Services department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards.
• Assess the comprehensive nursing needs of each resident using acceptable long-term care assessment software tools and according to state and federal time frames.
• Coordinate care plans for each resident and oversee day-to-day care to ensure care plans are followed.
• Work with other team members to establish appropriate levels of care in accordance with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement levels.
• Ensure comprehensive and accurate documentation by nursing service/direct personnel.
• Monitor, manage, and provide education on Clinical Systems, programs, and processes as assigned by the Director, Clinical Services.
• Implement Clinical Systems and programs in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care.
• Monitor community Quality Indicators and survey reports; provide recommendations for Success Planning, including conducting and scheduling in-service training classes.
• Plan, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program.
• Apply scientific principles and methods in conducting surveillance, using approved definitions of infection and standard methodologies for case identification, data collection, and reporting.
• Plan and conduct educational programs based on prevention, trends, and outcomes.
• Prepare reports and presentations for the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Committee, including Antibiotic Stewardship activities.
• Investigate and report outbreaks of infection and implement infection prevention interventions.
• Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures to support optimal associate compliance, infection prevention, and resident safety in adherence to OSHA regulations and infection control standards.
• Assist in developing and implementing a Clinical Services organizational structure.
• Determine staffing needs; recruit, select, and orient nursing/direct care personnel.
• Lead programs for staff development, including developing work assignments, schedules, and delegating authority to supervisory/lead staff.
• Review complaints and grievances filed by personnel and/or residents.
• Report and investigate all allegations of abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property.
• Report suspected or known violations of disclosure of resident protected health information.
• Assist with the coordination of ancillary services.
• Collect, coordinate, and submit MDS data to the state.
• Monitor medication and treatment schedules; work with attending physicians and provide direct care when required.
• Participate in maintaining policies and procedures governing the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Services Department.
• Ensure knowledge and compliance with state, federal, and OSHA regulations.
• Participate in developing and implementing safety standards and regulations for equipment, supplies, and resident care rooms.
• Implement safe practices in accordance with regulations for resident safety and ensure compliance by staff and residents.
• Monitor supply and equipment needs and budget.
• Monitor Medicare/Medicaid reimbursements.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Valid and current state RN license, issued by the appropriate state licensing agency.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of clinical skills and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment.
• Working knowledge of a functional discipline.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Pay

Base pay in range will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience.
