Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) - Skilled Nursing
Description
The Assistant Director of Nursing will assist the Director of Nursing Services in maintaining the skilled nursing budget to include labor expense, medical supplies and census. Participates in the Care Planning process, attends meetings and updates care plans. Understands and assists with the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process. Reviews and assists in case management of both Medicare & Non-Medicare guests/residents. Ensures interdisciplinary notes reflect the care provided through daily random audit. Ensures timely and accurate documentation. Participates and provides leadership in the Clinical At-Risk meetings and the daily Prospective Payment System (PPS) Meetings to obtain information for admissions and discharges. Conducts effective visits/rounds 2x a day in the skilled nursing center and as necessary with the Physicians. Leads and demonstrates infection control practices. Provides training as needed to support infection control practices. Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance.
Restorative - trains and monitors the Designated Nursing Assistants in the Restorative Program. Evaluates the documentation for the Restorative Program. Evaluates and reviews for resident decline and improvement. Medication Management. Guest/Resident, Family and Visitor Relations by responding to guests/residents and family visitor requests in a timely, professional and warm manner. Communicates with families regarding the guest/resident medical care and seeks new methods to incorporate guest/resident request into existing nursing standards.
Requirements
- Maintains current state of New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Skilled Nursing (SNF) experience required.
- At least 3 years of Nurse Supervisory and nurse management experience including hiring staff, coaching, performance management, daily operations supervision, discipline and counseling in a nursing environment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of nursing practices, techniques, and methods as applied to Skilled Nursing.
- Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state/provincial, and local long term care regulations.
- Competent in the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI).
- Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) and priority applications with the ability to learn new applications.
- Completed specialized training in Infection Prevention and Infection Control.
- RN with prior Nursing Leadership experience (Unit Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse with leadership responsibilities).
- Must be comfortable managing staff and working in a fast paced skilled nursing environment.
- Must be clinically strong and able to support the floor as needed.
Pay
$110,000 - $120,000 + based on experience
