About the role

RiverMead is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our Nursing Leadership Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate, collaborative nurse leader who enjoys connecting with both residents and staff while helping create an environment where exceptional care and a positive workplace culture go hand in hand. You'll work alongside a dedicated team, mentor and develop clinical staff, and play a meaningful role in maintaining the quality of care our residents and families expect.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and serve as the Director of Nursing's designee in their absence.
  • Supervise, coach, educate, and evaluate nursing and clinical team members.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, orientation, and performance management.
  • Oversee LNA/MNA training and CPR programs in accordance with New Hampshire requirements.
  • Support nursing scheduling and coverage when needed and participate in the nursing leadership on-call rotation.
  • Help maintain regulatory compliance and survey readiness, including audits and staff education.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
  • Support resident assessments, care planning, admissions, discharges, and care conferences.
  • Provide oversight of medication administration, infection prevention and control, and clinical documentation practices.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current, unencumbered New Hampshire Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • 3–5 years of nursing experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations
  • Strong communication, coaching, leadership, and team-building skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • 1–2 years of supervisory or clinical leadership experience preferred
  • LifePlan Community/CCRC experience preferred
