Assistant Director of Nursing

About the role

The Assistant Director of Nursing will manage the nursing department to maintain quality standards of care, provide input into nursing philosophy, and promote positive employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the DON in managing the nursing department
  • Consult with medical staff, department heads, and Administrator on matters related to nursing service
  • Interpret nursing philosophy and assist in setting departmental goals and objectives
  • Affirm regulatory compliance and communicate effectively with nursing staff to enhance care delivery
  • Exercise direction over the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing
  • Ensure integrity of educational programs offered within the facility
  • Identify employees for mentorship into leadership positions

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of long-term or acute health care experience preferred
  • At least 2 years of nursing supervisory experience required
  • Current RN license in state of practice
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree in nursing, at least two years of nursing supervisory experience, and a current RN license. Experience in long-term or acute health care is preferred.

Skills

Strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient care are essential.

Pay

$50,000 - $85,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, credentials, and other relevant information.

Schedule

Part-time (22.5+ hours/week) and Full-time positions available.
