Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the DON in planning, developing, and supervising nursing staff activities while providing overall management and support to the clinical team.
- Oversee daily clinical operations, including making rounds and monitoring resident conditions to ensure safety and quality of care.
- Collaborate with the DON to recruit, hire, and train nursing staff. Assist with performance appraisals and resolve personnel issues, including disciplinary actions.
- Aid in the development and implementation of nursing objectives, policies, and procedures. Stay current on regulatory changes to ensure facility compliance.
- Act as a liaison between residents, family members, and physicians. Provide regular reports and recommendations to the DON regarding nursing operations.
- Conduct ongoing in-service training for nursing staff to ensure consistent care delivery and the promotion of resident rights.
- Serve as back-up for DON, RN, and LVN staff, providing direct resident care as needed to maintain facility standards.
Qualifications
- Must possess a current, unencumbered RN license.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse clinical team.
