Assistant Director of Facilities Management

About the Role

Vi at Palo Alto is seeking a highly accomplished professional to supervise the maintenance staff and assist in maintaining the mechanical functioning of the building structure and systems, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents and guests. This role also involves operating the department in the Director's absence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff to ensure the mechanical functioning of the building structure and systems.
• Operate the maintenance department in the Director’s absence.
• Work with contractors, bid documents, insurance requirements, contracts, invoicing, and budgetary guidelines.
• Assess critical situations, respond, and delegate solutions effectively.
• Construct and submit bidding documents and verify proposals meet all requirements.
• Ensure compliance with local, federal, and industry regulations and standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in building maintenance or equivalent, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance department.
• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Valid driver’s license (where applicable).
• Universal Refrigerant certification preferred.
• AFE (Association of Facility Engineers) Plant Supervisor certification preferred.

Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in handling hand and power tools safely.
• Thorough knowledge of construction, building trades, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management, and scheduling.

Pay

USD $99,355.05 - USD $124,209.77 per year.
