Assistant Director of Facilities

About the role

The Assistant Director of Engineering plays a crucial role in maintaining the Omni William Penn Hotel's facilities and ensuring smooth operations. This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities Services.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the upkeep of preventative maintenance, including logging work done, scheduling, and assigning projects.
• Procure supplies and issue purchase orders for the Engineering Department.
• Coordinate work with other departments to minimize guest impact and meet vendor plans.
• Facilitate safety training and review work orders with assigned priorities.
• Maintain inventories of essential supplies and respond to guest requests.
• Assist in the Engineering Department during absences of the Director of Engineering Services.
• Understand and adhere to Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation protocols.
• Be familiar with Omni's Systems and Services procedures and have extensive HVAC and mechanical experience.
• Read and interpret the departmental P/L for accuracy and understand blueprints/schematics for various building systems.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• At least 3-5 years of hotel engineering experience, preferably in a convention service hotel setting.
• Previous experience managing a crew of 5 or more.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation protocols.
• Extensive HVAC and mechanical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/schematics for various building systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
