Assistant Director of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Aid the Director of Engineering Services in maintaining preventative maintenance schedules and logs.
• Assist in the procurement of supplies and issuance of purchase orders.
• Review and prioritize work orders, assigning tasks based on urgency.
• Maintain up-to-date inventories of essential supplies such as heat, light & power, and repair materials.
• Respond to guest requests regarding engineering services.
• Coordinate the activities of the Engineering staff on a shift basis.
• Take full responsibility for the Engineering Department in the absence of the Director of Engineering Services.
• Be familiar with and adhere to Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation protocols.
• Understand and follow Omni's Systems and Services procedures.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• At least 3-5 years of hotel engineering experience preferred.
• Previous experience at a convention service hotel is beneficial.
• Experience managing a team of 5 or more people.
